20,000 gallons
of city water, spiked with high levels of specific contaminants, were run
through an ERA-9500 & ERA-6500/GAC cartridge. The efficiency shown below was
measured AFTER 20,000 gallons had passed through the cartridge (when new,
removal is 99+%). Most other non-standard tests show results after only one
pass of contaminated water, which does not indicate how the filter will
perform towards the end of its life. To pass the NSF-53 protocol, the
effluent must be under the EPA Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) throughout
the test.
A separate test
was run on another ERA-9500/ERA-6500/GAC cartridge to determine chlorine
removal capacity. The challenge solution contained 3 mg/l chlorine (most
cities use less than 1 mg/l). 2 mg/l lead was also added. At 20,000 gallons,
both were being removed 99.9+%. The test was terminated at 28,400 gallons
when the chlorine removal rate hit 90%. The lead removal was still 97.6%.

While this test shows a reduction in these contaminants, ERA-9500/ERA-6500
is inconsistent in its removal in certain water conditions. We offer special
nitrate and fluoride filters, or reverse osmosis, if removal is needed.

We have been in the water purification business for

choices for good water purification, most of them centered around redox media
(KDF or Eagle Redox Alloy) because of its
unique properties, effectiveness and affordability.
NOTE: Redox is a relatively expensive substance.
Our water purifiers have the substantial amount of
redox media
needed to do a thorough job. There are other brands,
some that look like our units, with the same kind of filter housings as ours,
that contain only a small amount of redox alloy so they may say they have
it. These will do a lesser job for a shorter time than ours.
Our redox &
carbon water filter cartridges do a great job for one to two years depending on the
volume & type of water processed. The larger the family, or the dirtier
the water, the sooner you would change the cartridge.
Clean your water
of bad taste & odor, chlorine, volatile organic chemicals, heavy metals,
lime and scale. Our revolutionary process effectively clears more
household water chemicals and other water problems than other types of water
treatment.
The solid
carbon block water cartridge used in some of our systems has an extra fine
screening ability. The pure,
high-pressure solid carbon in our point-of-use systems will remove particles down to .2 micron ,
eliminating even very small bacteria. (This is preferable to a ceramic water filter,
which usually screens only to .4 micron.)
We also
have systems that remove the toxic
fluoride added to most
cities' water supply, supposedly for dental benefits. Those wishing to
use it for their teeth can use toothpaste and mouthwash with
fluoride.
Our unique
reverse osmosis and
ultrafiltration systems have the option of including a
"Corrected
Water" cartridge
to improve water, which may otherwise be too acidic. This
remineralizing alkalizer
is also an option with our fluoride filtration systems. It can be added to most of
our systems.
Our
Corrected Water cartridges "energize" the water as well, by conditioning it
with minerals and Far Infrared energy. The resulting water is ideal for
functionality in the body. The water performs better at doing the things
that water does.
