Every home absolutely needs a water filter or water purifier for both drinking water AND showering and bathing. No matter where you live, there are serious contaminants in your raw water.
Toxic rain from the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico polluted waters all over the eastern United States as poisonous gases were carried through the weather systems. Crops died and fish were killed as far away from the Gulf as North Dakota, by this oil toxic rain.
For over 70 years the runoffs of agricultural and industrial chemicals have contaminated water supplies, causing illness and suffering for millions.
Years ago, core samples of ice at the North Pole were found to have pollutants in them.
If you live in a city, the water treatment plant is adding deadly chlorine to your water to prevent infectious illnesses from bacteria and toxic algae. They also add toxic fluoride for a questionable unproven dental benefit. Other chemicals are added for other reasons.
There are residues of numerous drugs already in water supplies. Experiments of adding lithium and other metals to water are underway, possibly as population control methods.
Radioactive fallout from Japan continues contaminating water in the northern hemisphere.
These chemicals are seriously harmful to health, and contribute to early death for many.
It is up to you to remove the chemicals at the point of use with a high quality water filtration system to protect yourself from the serious long term negative effects of these poisons.
We recommend an advanced technology, either our new "corrected" reverse osmosis, or a multi-media filtration system. Our purifiers include a media known as "redox media", aka "KDF", along with carbon, for effective point-of-use home water purification.
We also suggest a redox based shower or bath filter to take care of chlorine, mildew and toxic heavy metals in your shower and bath water.
Other methods to clean water, such as simple ceramic or carbon filtration and distillation, purify water to some degree. Distillation, especially multiple distillation, results in a very pure water, but it is devoid of minerals and vitality, and not really healthy to drink regularly.
It is important to have more than just a simple carbon filter to give you pure, safe water to drink. Carbon removes organic contaminants and most of the chlorine, until it becomes saturated, but it misses much of the harmful chemicals.

We have been in the water purification business for over 30 years.
We offer multiple choices for good water purification, including both "corrected" reverse osmosis units, and advanced filtration systems, all centered around redox media (KDF or Eagle Redox Alloy) because of its unique properties, effectiveness and affordability. All components are free of BPA.
NOTE: Redox alloy is a relatively expensive material. Our purifiers have the substantial amount of redox media needed to do a thorough job. There are other brands, some with the same kind of housing as ours, that contain only a small amount of redox media so they may claim to have it. These will perform less well and for a shorter time than ours.
Our redox and carbon water filter cartridges do a great job for one to two years depending on the volume and type of water processed. The larger the family, or the dirtier the water, the sooner you would change the cartridge.
